YC Founder/Director Matt Kramer is a direct descendant of the state of Texas founder Stephen F. Austin, through his sister Emily Austin Bryan Perry. This unique family legacy, along with the enormous rise of Christian Arts and filmmaking in Texas, form the basis of YC's project, Texas Providence Connection, dedicated to celebrating Texas heritage and other Texas-centered activities.​
